TORNUM develops, produces and sells products and systems for modern grain handling. The company’s products include grain dryers, storage silos, grain coolers, conveying equipment, fans and complete elevators. The concept also encompasses our unique dual function – aeration/final unloading KANALSYSTEM™, analysis, project planning and servicing.

INNOVATIONS – realizing Environmental, Practical and Financial Advantages
HR Heat Recovery Dryer – 30% energy savings
Caring for the environment is of great concern to all of us and TORNUM has during the past couple of years introduced a new series of gas heated dryers with up to 30% energy savings. By developing the new heat recovery series of highly efficient environmental friendly dryers TORNUM have strengthen its position as the market leader in drying technology.
Any grain dryer is consuming a substantial amount of energy during a limited period of time. Looking at the life cycle cost of a TORNUM grain dryer saving up to 30% of the energy required is a truly remarkable achievement saving not only substantial amount of money for the user every year but is also restricting the amount of emissions to the atmosphere.
GRAIN COOLER –protects the grain and enhances the quality
Another TORNUM product is the Grain Cooler that will accomplish what nature cannot always provide - ability to chill in the bin - regardless of ambient conditions. The total climate control provided by a Grain Cooler will also reduce shrinkage and protect the grain from insects and thereby avoiding toxic chemicals to be used in our food.
A major environmental advantage with our Grain Coolers is the state of the art indirect cooling system used. At the same time as we have increased the cooling capacity we have reduced the refrigerant required by 80% compared to a traditional direct cooling system. The Grain Cooler is very user friendly and is operated with a PLC system.
KANALSYSTEM™ – patented dual function aeration/final unloading system
The third example of innovative products supplied by TORNUM is the patented dual function aeration/final unloading system called KANALSYSTEM™. Once the grain is put into a silo or a flat storage the next challenge will be to control the temperature in the stored grain and when it is time to deliver the grain to be able to unload the silo/flat storage in an efficient way.
This is where the KANALSYSTEM™ comes into place. The system serves as a high quality aeration system for cooling/aeration of the grain. The same system can also be used for final unloading when the grain has stopped flowing by gravity.
No mechanical parts inside the silo - no need for people to enter the silo or for using sweep augers during the unloading is some of the main advantages using our KANALSYSTEM™.
