This technology goes beyond known application technology in row crops as we know it.
The new IRIS system covers the entire plant as it goes in under the bush and provides in the lower area of the canopy an upwards-moving air and liquid stream to ensure the grape cluster and the central part of the bush is treated correctly against fungi.
Jaume Vallades in Spain has tried out this technology in his fields in El Pla del Penedés. Efficiency and quality are key issues at his farm, and thanks to IRIS’s outstanding spray application technology, Jaume Vallades has been able to double application speed, improve crop protection and get drift down to almost zero.
Jaume Vallades is fully convinced that after a second or third application he will see an even greater difference from traditional vine sprayers, as later on in the season when the plant is more developed he will take full advantage of the IRIS system as it allows for higher forward speed and reduction in chemical spray drift, even in difficult conditions.
