The Challenger RoGator 600 ‘B’ Series self-propelled sprayer range now adds the latest Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) engine technology and advanced C3000 control terminals. Due to the huge demand it has been already introduced in spring 2012.

There are three models, all powered by AGCO SISU POWER engines. On the two largest, six cylinder models the 223hp, RG 645 ‘B’ and 242hp, RG 655 ‘B’, these are now also equipped with the latest SCR technology, which combines exceptional fuel economy with exhaust emissions that meet the strict Stage 3b regulations. The smaller, 175hp, RG635 model is powered by a standard engine. The towing hitch is rated handle up to 18 tonnes depending on the model.

A new ISOBus compliant C3000 terminal, developed with AGCO’s strategic partner, Topcon, merges high-accuracy positioning and guidance, auto-section control, variable rate applications, detailed mapping and logging with versatile information management with easy to use operation and a large, clear screen.

All RoGator 600s are built on a unique single beam chassis that is equipped with novel hydraulic working height adjustment, allowing operators to raise the sprayer 45cm from the standard 75cm working height to provide 1.2m of clearance. The track width can also be adjusted from between 1.8m to 2.25m, hydraulically or manually.

Independent suspension on all four wheels offers superb stability and comfort, for maximum safety at full transport speeds. Four-wheel steer is also standard and works in two modes: two-wheel steer or 4-wheel steer.

A load sensing, hydrostatic pump provides CVT-like operation offering speeds from 0-40km/hr without the need to change ranges. Completely new wheel motors, exclusive to the RoGators, incorporate a planetary reduction unit, as well as in-board brakes, and are fitted within the wheel centres to reduce crop damage. These are linked through an Active Slip Regulation system.

The RoGator 635 comes with a 4,000 litre capacity tank, while the mid-range 645 has the choice of 4,000 litres or 5000 litres and the largest 655 has a further 6,000-litre option. The specially sculpted tank design provides a low centre of gravity and provides optimum balance and weight distribution of 50:50 on the front and rear axles with the boom unfolded.

Another unique feature is Challenger’s use of a novel, robust boom mounting arm, which is attached to the single beam chassis in front of the rear axle. This is the best position to maintain stability. Optional automatic boom contouring system is available from NORAC and can also be factory fitted.

The RoGator 600 can be equipped with booms of between 24m and 36m wide. It can also be equipped with twin, stainless steel spray-lines for high volume applications of liquid fertiliser. The GPS section control with pressure circulating system has a modular design. Optional Dual-Select nozzle bodies give more flexibility for all conditions.

All machines have a huge 800 litre/min capacity centrifugal pump, with a self-priming option, which connects into a unique plumbing module that uses industry-leading 45mm diameter, polythene pipe-work with all connections made by ‘Banjo’ joints throughout the entire system. Filling is through a huge, 60 litre capacity chemical induction hopper that fills at a rate of 200 litres/min with liquids and with granulate it can handle 30 kg/min, benefit is reduced fill time.

The RoGator 600 self-propelled sprayers cosset the operator in the largest cab on the market, which is the same unit as that fitted to the Challenger MT700C and MT800C tracked tractors. Thanks to the independent wheel suspension is the ride comfort as PROFI 09/2011 said ‘Heavenly’.
