In less than two months the edition 2011 of SIMEI-ENOVITIS - the international trade shows of enology, bottling and vine- and olive-growing techniques, will be opening its gates again.

From Tuesday 22nd November to Saturday 26th November 2011, in the halls 9-11-13-15 of the prestigious Fiera Milano in Rho, on a surface of over 35,000 sqm, 647 companies coming from 24 countries will meet at the world’s most important exhibition in the sector of machines and equipment to work in the cellar.

The last updated data are more than reassuring: over 50,000 visitors expected, 20% of whom from abroad, a considerable increase in the exhibitors number, with more foreign companies and trademarks in comparison with the previous edition of 2009.

The importance and the international value of the trade show is proven by the number of participating foreign countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Luxemburg, Moldavia, Portugal, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom and the USA.

Italy is taking part with over 500 trademarks, in particular the region Lombardy with more than 100 trademarks, followed by Veneto with 90, by Piedmont with 80 and by Emilia Romagna with more than 60. The country with more exhibitors after Italy is France, participating with over 50 trademarks, then Germany with over 20 trademarks.

Simei / Enovitis, at their 24th and 8th edition respectively, are representing the optimal meeting point, where exhibitors and visitors can get in touch and discuss within a complete route from the vineyard to the cellar, and from the olive grove to the oil mill as well.

In particular, SIMEI is the ideal, international showcase to present all technical innovations, machines, products and services that are used in the production, bottling and packaging of wine and beverage in general; ENOVITIS, in the halls 9 and 11, completes the wine-making chain, where visitors can have the chance of examining the last technological proposals for vine- and olive-growing: from plantation to cultivation, from treatments to both manual and mechanical harvesting.

To enrich the programme of the exhibitions, a series of free-admittance conferences have been organized in co-operation with Unione Italiana Vini: they are actually an occasion for information exchange and discussion on the topical subjects of greatest interest for the sector.

Among the main conferences in the programme: on Wednesday 23rd November, in Gemini Room, “Development of innovative sensors in viticulture and enology applications”, organized by Unione Italiana Vini about the importance of the use of sensors in the vineyard management and in the cellar processes. In the same day the in-depth technical seminar, by Bureau Veritas, entitled “Updating of the compulsory and voluntary regulation for the risk control in the food machinery and equipment sector”, in which the last novelties concerning hygienic safety will be presented, starting from an analysis of the reference management models. On Thursday, 24th November, in co-operation with Chirotti Editori, the technical conference “Energy saving and environmental impact for the beverage industry”, will focus on the reduction of energy consumption.

Within this edition of SIMEI, in Pavilion 15, the numerous visitors and trade operators of the sector will have the possibility of tasting the best wines and olive oils. Indeed, owing to the success of the past editions, again this year there will be a special post dedicated to tasting. The initiative, coordinated by Unione Italiana Vini, puts at the public’s disposal various types of wines coming from different Italian regions. White, rosé, red and sparkling wines, as well as different kinds of olive oils can be tasted, also thanks to the excellent service-support ensured by ONAV tasters who will offer exhibitors and visitors a travel among tastes and scents of Italian products.

The editorial production concerning the exhibitions is also accurate and innovative: for this edition, besides the traditional paper catalogues it’s enriched by a digital version. The CD-Rom will be sent to all offices of the CCIAA and the Italian Embassies abroad.
