Vineyard and cellar become intelligent thanks to sensors
ENOVITIS is a business occasion, but it is also a chance for exchanging information, for discussing the most interesting, topical subjects regarding the sector, in a perspective of growth and training. In this connection, the international conference “Developments in the use of innovative sensors in vine-growing and enology applications”, organized by Unione Italiana Vini will be held on Wednesday 23rd 2011. The meeting will focus on the importance of the use of sensors in the vineyard management and in the cellar processes. Today the utilization of these devices represents a fixed route for the future. There are many possibilities with regard to the use of sensors in the vineyard: from the evaluation of physiological parameters of vine to the mechanization and management of harvesting and to precision viticulture by optical detectors. On the other hand, in the cellar, the control alcoholic fermentation and of the different phases in the wine-making processes or of production in general may give very signific ant results thanks to the use of sensors.
The prize to the professionals of technological innovation
More than 30 novelties have been presented at the contest “Viticultural and Enological Innovation Prize” organized by Unione Italiana Vini on the occasion of ENOVITIS and SIMEI 2011. The companies entering the contest are not only Italian: there are also French, German and Spanish enterprises. The contest represents an opportunity for enhancing and promoting the technological novelties and for spurring the companies to try to improve and reach more and more advanced technological targets. The proposed innovations will concern machines, products and technologies for the vineyard (ENOVITIS) and for the cellar (SIMEI). The works will undergo the assessment of a special committee that will decide the winning innovation within the end of September. The official price-giving will take place during the exhibition.
