New FERTITEST, the SULKY fertilizer spreader setting assistance service
SULKY, the fertilization specialist, is expanding its online presence and working directly with farmers. The company's FERTITEST service is changing and now includes a solution for non-referenced fertilizers.
"Express" settings
As of January 2011, all users of SULKY's "large width" machines (X12-44, DPX and POLYVRAC XT) can now visit www.sulky-burel.com at any time and access application rate and working width settings, which are updated in real time.
This "100% SULKY" database contains more than 350 fertilizers (granulated and compacted), as well as the most common seed varieties (cover crops) and slug pellets.
A complete settings file in just a few clicks
First, the user selects the fertilizer from the database of referenced products. With a few clicks, the user then enters the application conditions (fertilizer spreader model, set of ejection vanes used, desired application rate per hectare, desired working width, planned forward speed). The relevant settings are then provided on a single screen, which the user can print, instantly. To be sure that the user has selected the correct fertilizer, FERTITEST also displays an image of the selected fertilizer, showing its grading and density.
New: non-referenced fertilizers
The new FERTITEST service includes a so-called "approaching search" function. Farmers who use a non-referenced fertilizer (normally imported) can enter a description and characteristics of their product (grading, density, appearance). FERTITEST will then suggest the setting values for the referenced product most similar to the one described.
NB: all SULKY fertilizer spreaders are, of course, supplied with an instruction manual including the full settings tables.
With version 2 of FERTITEST, users will have access to "up to date" settings tables for their SULKY fertilizer spreader.
