The second edition of EIMA Gulf is to be held in Abu Dhabi on April 18-20, bringing back this international biennial showcase for agricultural and gardening equipment manufacturers to the splendid fair area in the Gulf state. The fair, held every other year, is organised by UNACOMA Service with Fairs in the Gulf and ADNEC, the Abu Dhabi fair authority.
The exhibits from over 100 companies cover 5,000 sq.m and are expected to attract 4,000 visitors with a product range from tractors and tilling equipment to land reclamation and afforestation machinery, irrigation systems, harvesting and crop processing, animal husbandry, gardening and park equipment, and an ample range of machine components.
Demand for the equipment in the UAE, especially as regards farming and the reclamation of arid land, is growing, but the fair is above all a strategic date for any machine maker who wants to penetrate the Mediterranean arc, the Middle East, the Arabian peninsula in general, Africa, and the Indian subcontinent. At the first edition in 2009, businessmen came from thirty countries including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Morocco, Turkey, Israel and Pakistan. This year, an even better result is expected.
“The fair has international scope and, in the first edition, we already attracted exhibitors from eleven countries,” explained Guglielmo Gandino, UNACOMA Service’s managing-director. “But the participation of Italian companies is preponderant, thanks to the quality and nature of what they make. They are at the cutting edge in making irrigation equipment and systems, in soil tilling, cultivation, transport and the first processing of fruit and vegetables, all technologies that EIMA Gulf’s target countries have a vital need for.”
