In 2009 Kongskilde was allocated 25 million zloty (6.1 million Euros) from the EU’s Structural Funds for new production equipment and an expansion of the facilities in a 50/50 arrangement where Kongskilde was to finance the remaining half. Now the project is finished, and we have a completely modernised plant.
– The flags are flying, and we are pleased to announce that today here in Kutno we inaugurate the plant as part of a two-stage modernisation project which has improved all areas of our factory, said Asbjørn Børsting, who is chairman of Kongskilde Industries and Group CEO of the mother company DLG, when
cutting the Kongskilde red ribbon.
– Today is a great day and we are proud to inaugurate these efficient facilities where Kongskilde cultivators, Nordsten seed drills and Howard power harrows are manufactured. We are experiencing a sound increase in orders on machines here in Poland, and we have seen over the last couple of years an increase of around 25-30 percent, added Asbjørn Børsting.
The Building Project 2, which started in the autumn of 2009, followed up on initiatives that naturally appeared after the new building of 14,000 m2 in step 1 was completed. In particular the new facilities include new production equipment, among others three welding robots, several CNC-machines and a top of the range system for surface treatment, but also a new warehouse for spare parts, a covered storage area for raw materials and an overall improved infrastructure. The development also includes new initiatives allowing shorter production runs to increase the production flexibility to the costumer’s benefit.
Modern plant
At the same time the new production equipment gives Kongskilde a wider range of in-house production options.
This is a very extensive project, and the plant is now running in conjunction with other new initiatives. Today Kongskilde Polska has just under 300 employees compared to 250 three years ago, all of whom can be proud of the new production equipment, new offices and canteen.
– We now have an exceptionally modern plant and a group of very motivated employees. This enables Kongskilde to be able to reach every corner of Europe and also many other markets such as North America, South Africa and Japan, said Asbjørn Børsting, who is very optimistic about Kongskilde’s future activities, where the strategy is to continue to launch new equipment every year within the different product areas.

Kongskilde stellt großes Modernisierungsprojekt in Polen fertig
Am 18. September, übergibt Kongskilde Industries A/S den zweiten Abschnitt der grundlegenden Modernisierung des Werkes in Kutno, Polen, seiner Bestimmung. Seit dem Jahreswechsel 2008/2009 sind dort 12,2 Mio. € investiert worden.
In 2009 erhielt Kongskilde Fördermittel in Höhe von 25 Mio. Zloty (6,1 Mio.€) aus dem EU-Strukturfond für die Ausweitung und Erneuerung des Produktionsstandortes. Die Förderung sah im Rahmen einer 50:50 Vereinbarung vor, dass Kongskilde eigene Mittel in gleicher Höhe investieren soll. Jetzt ist das Projekt abgeschlossen und das Werk ist grundlegend neu aufgestellt worden.
“Die Fahnen wehen und wir freuen uns, dass wir heute hier in Kutno das Werk einweihen, in welchem kein Winkel von der zweistufigen Modernisierung ausgespart wurde” sagte Asbjørn Børsting, während der symbolisch das rote Kongskilde-Band durchschnitt.
“Heute ist ein großer Tag und wir sind stolz darauf, diese leistungsfähige Produktionsstätte für Kongskilde Kultivatoren, Nordsten Drillmaschinen sowie Howard Kreiseleggen und Fräsen seiner Bestimmung zu übergeben. Wir erleben derzeit eine bemerkenswerte Zunahme von Aufträgen für Geräte hier aus Polen, nachdem wir in den letzten Jahren bereits eine Steigerung von 25-30% nach Stückzahlen erreichen konnten“, fügte Asbjørn Børsting, Vorsitzender des Aufsichtsrates der Kongskilde Industries A/S und Geschäftsführer der Muttergesellschaft DLG, hinzu.
Das Modernisierungsprojekt 2 wurde im Herbst 2009 begonnen und folgte der Fertigstellung einer neuen Werkshalle von 14.000 m2 aus Projekt 1. Das neue Werk ist im Wesentlichen mit neuen Produktionseinrichtungen, darunter drei Schweißroboter und verschiedene CNC-Bearbeitungszentren, sowie einer topmodernen Pulverbeschichtungsanlage bestückt. Darüber hinaus entstand ein Lager für Ersatzteile und Werkzeug, ein überdachtes Lager für Rohmaterial, sowie insgesamt eine bessere Infrastruktur – alles Maßnahmen, welche die Flexibilität der Produktion zum Wohle der Kunden erhöhen.
Ein hochmodernes Werk
Gleichzeitig ermöglicht das “neue Werk” eine intensivere und grenzüberschreitende Kooperation mit anderen Produktionsstätten von Kongskilde, denn der Grad an Eigenfertigung von Baugruppen und Komponenten kann unter Nutzung der modernen Produktionsanlagen ab sofort weiter erhöht werden.
Nach dem umfangreichen Modernisierungsprojekt arbeitet das Werk in Kutno jetzt im Einklang mit weiteren, neuen Initiativen innerhalb der Gruppe. Aktuell sind knapp 300 Mitarbeiter am Standort beschäftigt; zu Beginn der Modernisierung vor drei Jahren waren es 250 Beschäftigte. Die moderne Auslegung des Werkes, sowie neue Büroräume und eine neue Kantine tragen zu attraktiven Arbeitsbedingungen bei.
“Wir haben jetzt ein topmodernes Werk und eine hochmotivierte Belegschaft. Dies wird Kongskilde in die Lage versetzen, jeden Winkel von Europa, sowie weitere Märkte, wie beispielsweise Nordamerika, Südafrika und Japan zu erreichen“, freut sich Asbjørn Børsting, der hoch optimistisch Kongskilde`s Strategie verkündet, wonach weiterhin jedes Jahr ein neues Produkt pro Geschäftsbereich am Markt eingeführt werden wird.
