Case IH News January 2013

Agro Napló
The chilly New Year has kept us busy at Case IH – from dealer open days in the snow, to LAMMA Show in bitter temperatures. This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Magnum, and we are commemorating this with a celebratory limited edition silver Magnum which many of you were fortunate enough to see at LAMMA. The Magnum will also be on show at Ernest Doe Power Show in Essex next week so make sure you go and check it out.

25th Anniversary Magnum Stars At LAMMA

Although the weather was bitter in Newark two weeks ago, we were lucky that the snow held off for the two days of LAMMA show. On the Case IH stand we had a high number of visitors who spent the two days getting a feel for the range of products on display including the Axial-Flow 5130 combine sporting the new cab design and the latest addition to the Farmall family, the new Farmall U Pro, which made its UK debut at the show.

One of the star attractions was the 25th Anniversary Silver Case IH Magnum which is the only one in the UK. This special edition 340 hp flagship model was produced to celebrate 25years of production and evolution of the Magnum tractor range; there are only 25 in Europe.

Paul Freeman, Magnum Product Marketing Specialist for Case IH UK, said “When Case IH launched the first Magnum in 1988 it quickly gained a strong reputation with farmers for power, productivity and performance. Its successors have continued to maintain that hard-won reputation and, although the Magnum name has remained the same, the tractor itself has developed beyond all recognition.”

With five models currently in the range today, the Magnum is at the forefront of tractor technology, meeting the power, durability and productivity needs of large-scale farmers in the UK.

Don’t forget that next year the venue for LAMMA will change to Peterborough.

Louth Tractors Open Day

Last week customers had the opportunity to see a range of Case IH machinery at the second annual Louth Tractors open day. Last year’s event was well attended and this year’s event was even more popular, with over 400 farmers attending throughout the day.

A Case IH walkaround presentation of the 9230 Axial-Flow combine was given by Harvesting Sales Manager Chris Armitage and After Sales Area Manager Matt Pratt. Sales Area Manger Barry Ward also gave a presentation on the Puma range. A good display of AFS systems was well received and attracted considerable interest.

Gordon Cummings, Sales Director for Louth Tractors, was delighted with the day and said “We have tremendous support here at Louth from both customers and suppliers, especially Case IH. We are only a small dealership but have excellent backing and desire to succeed.”

Norfolk Estate Makes Savings by Switching to Case IH Fleet

A large Norfolk Estate has made big savings by switching to a single tractor fleet. The Sennowe Estate near Fakenham opted to bulk-buy the Case IH machinery through AtlasFram. Adrian Howes, who manages the in-hand section of Tom Cook’s Sennowe Park Estate, decided to switch to a single make eight years ago when Ernest Doe Power took on the Case IH brand in Fakenham.

Mr Howes says “We have made full use of our investment allowances recently and now operate three Case IH tractors, including a Magnum 310 and Maxxum 140 Multi-Controller.”

The estate also has a Case IH 9120 Axial-Flow combine. “A key reason for choosing the Axial-Flow was the performance of its 120-blade straw chopper, which has vastly improved residue management, while the Variocut header does a very good job, particularly in oilseed rape” says Mr Howes.

“The added benefit is that we have enjoyed significant financial savings by purchasing Case IH equipment through the AtlasFram Machinery Scheme, which allows us, as individual members, to benefit from the volume-related rebates.”
