Made for a broad range of applications on both bare soil and hard surfaces such as concrete and tarmac – the brand new A585 offers the answer to challenging ground conditions and versatile operations of telehandlers as well as backhoe and compact loaders. These machines are frequently operated on very different yet demanding surfaces such as bare soil, concrete, or paved areas. That is why the innovative A585 features a unique tread design and special tread compounds, thus providing excellent value for money in terms of reliability, performance, durability and tire life.
Gilad Horovitz, Innovation Technology & Product Development Engineer at ATG, explains that he was inspired to develop the new A585 by looking at emerging trends in agriculture: “Farmers increasingly opt for multi-use applications, and efficiency is of utmost importance. That is why more and more farmers increase their storage facilities and try to save work steps. At the same time, small farms increasingly try to either consolidate, or transfer work to contractors. Also there, a clear tendency towards a versatile combination of agricultural and industrial types of operations – and hence machinery – can be found. The brand new A585 is a perfect example for a tire that was developed as answer to this trend”, says Horovitz.
Vehicle productivity is paramount
Operating machines instead of waiting for maintenance or replacement of parts in a shop makes the difference between profitability and failure. That is why development engineers at ATG looked at the requirements of operations on farm yards and construction sites, in municipalities and during all kinds of material handling. As a result, the steel-belted design of the A585 provides excellent puncture resistance, the reinforced sidewalls are resistant against damage due to sharp-edged material such as gravel, and the special tread compounds along with the higher non-skid depth and rubber to void ratio ensure cut and wear resistance and superior tire life even on highly abrasive surfaces such as concrete and tarmac.
At the same time, large and multi-directional tread blocks provide perfect ground stability. “The deliberate construction of the new A585 ensures optimum load carrying capacity, massive grip and traction, excellent self-cleaning abilities, high comfort and safety during road trips and excellent fuel efficiency”, concludes Horovitz. The new pattern Alliance 585 is available in six sizes already. This includes sizes 460/70R24, 500/70R24, 400/70R20, 440/80R24, 340/80R18 and 400/70R18.
